No matter how much research you do, there's nothing like experience to illuminate the truth. When I was writing the book, I had it on good authority that airlines would not count a CPAP machine as one of your allowed carry-ons. But recently I began using a CPAP machine, and on my latest trip to London, British Airways indicated on its site that my machine would, indeed, count as one of my carry-ons. That doesn't seem quite fair to me, and I'm very sorry if the information I gave in the book has inconvenienced someone. As with access issues for people with mobility problems, sometimes the world has a little catching up to do. My apologies to my readers.
